Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I love fiishing for the 1 1/2 pound bluegill for sure but I have been catching catfish and carp lately. Last night my dad finally got some free time off from work so I brought him fishing with me. I set up two 9wt fly rods with wooly buggers on them and a 4wt with a spider for the bluegills. He hadn't caught a fish in long time and I wanted to get him on a good one. The thing was I didn't think that it would be this good, because as we were both casting I heard "I got one, and it's big!" So I ran back to the house and got the bigger landing net and I was thinking that it would be to late but I was wrong it took 3 1/2 hours to land that thing. When I measured it, it was 39 inches and the scale I had with me snaped when I tried to weigh it, the scale was definatly to small. So we we let it go without being able to weigh it and we were wondering how about how much you guys think that the average 39/40 in grass carp would weigh.

Thirty-five pounds, depending on the dynamics of the fish. Any photos?
