Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

2013 NORTH CAROLINA COPPERNOSE CALENDAR........A Sampling of a Great Year......The Dirty Dozen

January......Liked the dark shades in an otherwise light colored fish......

February....My mother was born in February and we shared the water on two nice trips in 2013 and she put it on us this day.......Great Fish Donice!

March.....this fish could hide my entire hand.....what a tall brute with subtle banding.....looks like a mount..

April.....showers, flowers and frisbee gills......no solo shots of the fish in my left hand because of bad weather.....what a beast......

May.....enough said.....part of a 100 fish day........

Thanks Tooty and Carl......the Stables is man made and it's only downfall will be development at some point.....things are still moving relatively slow in this region compared to many of our nation's lakes and reservoirs, so hopefully it'll continue to be a little honey hole for a few years to come.......I read a recent fishing report in a local paper and the writer insisted that the salinity was too high in most of this region to promote great Bass and Bluegill fishing......I encourage him to keep publishing stories like that because more people read that paper than my testimony.......In some ways you wouldn't believe gills would be in a certain area but when it comes to BRACKISH water you have to experiment.......All  of the fish in this blog are from brackish water......
