Bassin' the reeds on "big pond"

Had a fun day today spending about five hours passing along an important tradition with my three little ones. Had been years since I "spun" the reeds for bass and pike on my favorite lake, but decided to take the kids on a spur of the moment. 'Gillin in northern minnesota-spring 2010

Sorry, haven't wrote in a long time, but had to add these photos of my recent spring outings to two of my favorite spring 'gill lakes. My latest trip on Wed. 26th of May was on my "secret" up north lake. The first few hours of the day were slow and the big 'gills and 'seeds weren't in there usual location. 'Gillin on vanduse lake-9/7/09

Went fishing on Vanduse lake near Jacobson, Mn. on Monday and had a great afternoon. Me and my kids caught several gills in the 6"-8" range and some nice crappie and bass. All of the fish were hanging out in the middle of the lake just off an exposed weed hump were the water dropped from about 9' down to 14' in a boat length.
