I went to mammoth lakes fishing for trout and i caught several brook trout on bluegill setup. They almost were going to break my line becuase i was using light line for big brook trouts.

I was originally going for bluegills on nightcrawlers at Big Bear Lake, but then something else bit on. A madtom. Then i decided i did too much bluegill fishing so i decieded to start catching madtoms. they are so easy to catch. My sister got 40 in one hour by just using a number 10 hook with a small split shot about 6 inches up and dropped it into the water right along the shore.

I just caught a bluegill that is less than a inch long on a size 14 hook.

Yestrday i went fishing and all day all the bluegills have been doing is taking my bait. I wasted alot of worms for 2 tiny bluegill

today went fishing for 1 hour caught 15 bluegills and huge ones, most of them close to a pound.

i am going to try to catch bluegills on soap this week cuz i saw the show River Monsters on animal planet and the guy caught some catfish on soap.

does kastmasters work for bluegils? ive got one but never tried it

The worse thing that has happened to me is when i was fishing at a pond i cast my hook and it hooked a girl by the neck across the lake. and i also caught a swan on a crankbait.

I was wondering should i set the hook on bluegills? i never done it before i just wait for the fish to bit on itself. and what size hook works the best?

Hey i went to the lake yesterday and i keep on gettin bits but the bluegill never bite on the hook. is there anyway to make them like bit onto the hook?

I used the strike king bitzy pond minnow, it works really well for trout,largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and smallmouth bass. I use it to fish bluegills, i threw it in in about 1 minuite of trolling it i got a bluegill then. I cast in about 5 feet off shore and within 3 to 4 sec another one bit on. Today I caught 11 bluegill. mostly on wax worm but 1 on a strike king bitsy minnow

Next time if you ever find your self catching a lot of bluegill in a very short amount of time try putting 3 hooks at once. The set up i do is i have a small bass sinker at the bottom. USing 6 pound test line, then about 12" up i have a #10 hook then 7" up another # 10 hook then another 7" up i tie another hook on. Baited with wax worms. Sometimes i catch a fish on all three of my hooks but that is kind of hard to reel in with 3 different gill swimmin in different directions.

Hey has anyone caught any bluegills on some intereesting baits. I caught a bluegill on a Crunch bar wrapper once before. and i caught one on accident i hooked it on the fin. One time i even caught a spinnerbait that someone lost in the water.

Today i went fishing and my friend and i caught 41 fish. mostly bluegills. on just wax worms on size 10 hook. We also caught the biggest one with a crappy little jig that you find in like the children's fishing kit.

In Puttingstone lake I sometimes catch bluegills in about 3 second to get a bit. Caught 157 bluegills there last year
