Well, it's a part of my local municipal park, and I have scored gills in there from April till December. Also continuing into January.

Sometimes I just don't understand

Sometimes I just don't understand why other anglers  snicker at the pursuit of panfish. I don't care how much they talk about other species, I believe that panfishing on a consistant level require elements of what the pros like to call 'finesse fishing'. Anyone who has ever gone out for bluegill or crappie in the dead of winter knows it's as much a challenge as any other fish.  I have seen all species of panfish  designated as 'game fish', so that's enough validation for me.
