Yep, Jim's nailed it. This time of year I downsize even further than normal, and I look for coves, or bays that get a lot of sunlight., adjacent to deeper water. Weedbeds are usually a plus. Might even pay to check the afternoon bite.

We down-sized to a 1/64th oz shad dart jighead with worm pieces this week and smacked em silly. Fished em 5 ft below a bobber...small, sensitive bobber, and let the wind just drift thru some shallow corners of the pond that had been warmed just a bit by sunlight...fish were there!

you right now are my inspiration buddie!... going to fish that little 7 acre pond on state land i found on google maps tomorrow.. hoping to get just a bite... nice fishing Jeff!

Larger hooks will be a great addition....today was a bad today to test anything.....hard bite to follow.......caught several nice largemouth on them also...solid hook set........

It should Jim....LOL.....we had to endure similar conditions today with an eight degree drop in water temps overnight.......getting tougher as the rivers near turnover......
