Thanks Jim these guys are really tough and productive!  The fabric/hobby store has an endless array of colors and you can mix em up to match the local spider population.   I just mailed a dozen out this morning in a darker brown woven with beige and brown legs.  They are very cheap and easy to make. I like a size 10 hook like the Mustad 3906 but some times go with a size 12 or size 8 hook. Recipe:

1. lay a thread base

2. add 8 turns of .020 lead starting opposite the barb and wrap toward the eye then wrap thread forward and tie off

3. I wrap the lead with Uni-stretch for shape and extra security tie it off with a couple half hitches at the front of the lead head cement/glue for extra security

4. tie in the embroidery thread one color on each side of the hook and capture by wrapping  thread back to the bend in the hook

5. wrap thread forward and tie off

6. overhand weave keeping the same colors on the top and bottom. stop weaving where the lead tapers back down to the hook tie off the ends of the thread and trim.

7. tie in the legs (I vary this from 4, 6, or 8 legs depending on the material I am using and hook size)

8. finish with dubbing around the legs to form the upper body and whip finish

One of my favorite ties.  Makes for a durable body also.  I've got several in my box and they are a proven producer.  Good job.
