a matched set!! cant go wrong there Jeff! good luck to ya!!
I like that design. I have been using the Thill Shy Bite. It has the rubber tubing on both ends. Just having an eye on one end makes more sense to me.
This is the jig of choice tomorrow tipped with live grass shrimp or small minnows,,,,,,,,
Thanks guys.
Jim, sometimes it's hard to believe, but bright colors in dark water do work.
almost like the ones Allen gave me last year Jeff!1 just go get some ben-gay your going to need it!! LOL!!
Keith has really out done himself on these........really nice work!
and keith's float is really some thing too
i have fished the south a bit over the years and know about that tea color the water is jeffrey.i can see it in the dark color of the fish.i have posted pics of the yellow perch we catch in lake michigan and they are a very muted color, more drab green than yellow.i bought a bunch of southern pro plastics for my crappie trip to southern illinois and bought the electric chicken slugs half as a joke.we got down there and the lake was muddy from heavy rains.i could not believe the increase in hits i got with that crazy to me colori made some poppers in that color but my granddaughter stole em all.when i bass fish up here it is a tough choice black or brown power worms.
Indeed he does Jim.......yeah I understand the color challenges with clear water which I never have to deal with in my tannic waters.........I never use anything under 10 pound test mono either and line size is a factor in clear water........I often catch many gills on 16 and 18 pound line rigged on my telescopics..........Allen sent me some beautiful black ostrich flies that have caught a few fish but fall way short of these colors on the Albemarle.......
You can get a perspective on how dark the water is here looking at the creek pictured.........
allan sure makes a nice jig.must be southern thing jeffrey-have flies and plastics in that color and they only worked in so illinois for me when the lake muddied up.most of my water is pretty clear and natural colors and black work best.we also dont have the fish population and tons of angler pressure even the little ones get picky
