It's definitely a black crappie. Shorter snout. No vertical barring. Seven spiny dorsal rays. It's very hard to tell the difference between a female black crappie and a male white crappie if you're only going by color. This is a real beauty, though.
nice catch ive caught a couple that size but they usual were filled with eggs but I throw the females back and keep the males but I only do this during the spawn but once thats over I keep them all
