Slip...this fish just barely made the 10 inch line...by far the biggest bluegill I have taken from this 'drive-by' public lake 5 miles from home. But we have caught some really nice 11 in plus red ears here the past two seasons. All catch and release regs on this little gem.

Traditionally, winter bluegills, or very early springtime fish, have a pale, washed-out coloration to them. But as our waters enter the low 40's, the beautiful coloration of those 'warm water' gills are becoming prominent. I believe that was what Jeffrey was reffering to.
