Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This fine hen Bluegill from Weyble pond in the backwoods of Skylands in Ringwood was caught on a mealworm on a 32nd oz. jig I tied using African Gray tail feather(red)(Lindas pet bird Jessie donated them to me)

Dont know Bruce Ist time fishing it yesterday and only caught the one Blue Gill after fishing less than an hour. I suspect Pickerel ,Golden Shiners and Bass .Just started fishing these backwood natural ponds this year and have caught these four species at nearby ponds in the area. There are several of these ponds...Weyble ,4 small Grassmere ponds,Gatun and Brushwood.I have fished all but Brushwood...that's next.
