Dick, there are four different feathers in this tie. The tail is Pheasant "marabou" from the rump. The wingcase is Pheasant Tail fibers that have been treated with Flexament. The grey fibers coming off the sides in the abdomen are Pheasant aftershaft feathers. The legs are Chinese neck hackles
Honestly, I think the Pheasant aftershaft feathers are a little big. Probably should have used Partridge aftershaft feathers.
I can honestly say that yes, these are 'gill-getters. They are also Crappie-getters, and Channel Catfish-getters, LOL. Caught those tonight. I also caught a small LMB on the foam Gurgle-Pop I use for the popper-dropper approach. Deadly tactic for this situation. The G-P can get all sorts of things, up to and including a Hex dun that just emerged. And the nymph will be readily eaten before the hatch actually starts, as the nymphs are moving up to the surface.
AWSOME LOOKING TYES ALLEN;; BOUND TO BE REALLY GOOD GILL GETTERS
I likum a lot great ties. What feathers you using on the sides?
Another nice tie Allen.
