One of 40 Black Crappie over 12".......moved right back into the shallows when the water blew back in.....

Can't help it Andy.....exposed to them as a child and their feeding frenzy is just as fun as any other fish caught in numbers.....not to forget how good they taste! The big spring "river run" for shallow crappie will be over shortly in coastal North Carolina and I will begin to focus solely on my coppernose friends.......I guess it goes back to a morning in the early 70s when my grandpa landed two 3 pound plus Sac-a-lait on one Spring morning on the Pearl River........SAC-A-LAIT  is what a hybrid white and black crappie is called down in Louisiana.......
