Zach your right. Fish are just like us. Darken if we get sunlight. I can see about 5 to 6 ft down. Look at mt photo "BED" you can see the bottom.

I think Rick’s pond is clear and I have noticed that fish tend to be darker coming out of clear water where turbid water may produce more washed out look.
At least that has been my experience.
