I caught some real good sized red breasts out of town lake, right below the first dam in relatively shallow water. I can't imagine what is in the depths.

Not many people fish for sunfish in texas, 99.99% fish for bass. Better for people like us . there are 3 great public lakes for sunfish within 2 hours from my house. Lake dunlap for RES, Lake Austin for redbreast and lake fayette for BG and RES

I wasn't smiling because I was still in shock LOL

HAHAHA, but worms are worth their weight in gold

WELL FEDERICO I do use artificials mostly cause I"m just too cheap to buy live bait buddy!!!!!

Leo, Dunlap is a public lake of the gudalupe river chain of lakes, not sure how big.

David I don't use artificials that much but I like the pumpkin seed color with a pink belly on the crappie slider and the pink/red worms from the gulp products

Leo, I was actually wearing shorts and a light jacket,

I agree Jim, pressures is a lot less and colder water temps tend to bunch up the bigger fish in deeper water. winter is always produced very well at lake dunlap

Federico, that would be my lifetime trophy for crackers...stunning fish! And I always said that trophy panfish are vulnerable in the cold, when everybody is packing it in. Great job!
