Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Had 28 gills, 13 bass and 2 crappie on the un-tipped Pink Thing during windy conditions.

Depth...and size...seem to be the sticking points for these fish in my region, Allen.

And, yes, the two-jig combo is allowed in some waters. We do it all the time shad fishing and for night time crappies over the years as well...with great success!

Jim, do the laws in your area allow you to tie on more than one jig at a time?

I will often tie on two jigs, different colors, and see if I can figure out which color(s) the targeted species prefer at that time.  Sometimes, it's not so much "color", as it is "depth".....

Nice fish Jim!

Black has been good this spring as well but pink ruled the day today. Don't know how much the color pattern mattered today...I think that size often has a lot to do with enticing active fish. I should have rigged up another rod with another color, just to make a comparison.

Almost forgot " GREAT GILL " Jim !!!! The color I use is called winter run blue Jim.....

Oh well bet ya don't forget em next time !!! Regular chennile or the sparkly stuff like mine. My chenille I use on the blues is called New Age chenille size medium Jim . Never had to tip them either and the only bait I've made that rivals the Old standby GReen and Black Silents....

I specifically bought some blue chenille to dupliicate your blue patterns, tied some that resembled yours, then left them home! Sheeeesh! I need another brain...
