Do you love big bluegill?
A nice 8 inch Flier from the Low Country of S.C.
Caught a total of 37 Fliers this afternoon but not the Wall Hanger I'm looking for......

I catch them on just about every thing I throw John.......You find them concentrated in areas with less Oxygen but they mix in with all the other sunfish.....I catch most of mine on crickets like this afternoon I was actually fishing for fliers and crickets at two feet were the ticket......Rarely exceed a pound as indicated by the world record of a Pound and a few ounces John.....Very pretty fish that is mistaken for a Crappie all the time...Similar to gills....you can catch a sack full in one spot when they nest in heavy vegetation.....

Very pretty .I never saw a Flier in person before .Are they much like gills in how they feed ?Same lures Gills and Crappie hit I would think .What do you usuually use to catch these?How big do they get?
