Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This gill is only seven inches long but he's that tall already also and a good fighter....Only thing not in his mouth is the 1/32 ounce jig head......

These rivers are all fed by the Dismal Swamp which is one of the largest in the nation.....the fish are pretty that live in the swamp.....

Tanic water gills, ain't they beautiful. This pic reminds me of the ones we caught in the Okeefanokee swamp a few years ago.

That would work for me Jeffrey , 90 fish coming home to Illinois to be eating  this coming winter while I'm watching a blizzard blowing outside knowing there are folks trying to go to work!!!!!!!!!

What storm?!!!!!!!!!! I'm still packed anyway and stay that way at all times. If you could give me a weeks notice as to your schedule I'd really love to come down, all kidding aside.

Weather up here has been goofy this year and awful hot today as a matter of fact with the wind blowing in the 20 mph range. The speed I drive at is like the movie DRIVING MISS DAISY!!!!!!!!! IT would take me 2 days to get there anyway even if I speeded up to 50 miles an hour! I'm the old dude you see on the road and want to pass all the time!!

Possession Limit in North Carolina is a combination of 3 days creel limits......

Unfortunately I won't be able to fish until the end of the week now with a crossing Tropical Storm......We'll get some wind I just don't want a ton of rain or tornadoes that are normally associated with tropical systems......

Got ya and thought the line looked heavier than I use. If the daily limit is 30, is there a possesion limit for me to take home? I just finished packing my clothes and rods are always on standby in my truck!

I use mainly light action with 10 pound test on spincasters Tooty.....I have the potential to catch so many other big fish I choose the larger line......That would hurt you in clearer water but not in the tanic waters I fish in.....The daily limit in North Carolina is a combination of 30 sunfish with a specific limit of 12 on redbreast sunfish....I like to keep and filet the 6 to 9 inch gills I catch.

Hey Jeffrey,
Are you using ultra light rods and what weight line? Is there a daily limit down there?
