Harvest Moon tonight so I'm excited about the potential this weekend......little bit lower water temps......and an  emphasis on moving water should serve the willing angler well on the Albemarle......I like a few days after the Full Moon in the Fall but push hard to fish a few days before and ultimately during the Full Moon Spring and Summer as the urge to spawn pushes fish early.......just an opinion that has played out on multiple seasons....

Thanks Mark and Ken....the mild Summer is most significant to me fishing "river" crappie as they have remained shallow or return earlier than usual thus we cross paths as I pursue the gills......I simply can't turn away from piled up crappie when located.....on this day three trees held the majority of the fish, two of which have produced large numbers for more than ten years in a row during the Early Fall.....but with water temps receding into the high 70s over the last few weeks  and holding, the larger fish have began to transition into the shallow cover and are very aggressive when located......I hit a different location on Sunday and caught 51 in two spots but very similar to the conditions I had Saturday......just plain fun and let's not forget......"save a gill, eat a crappie"....

Thanks Guys......it hasn't slowed down all year for Crappie.........already catching them where I search in the Fall, so provided we don't get a major heat wave later in August the bite will stay hot through September......I've never released as many crappie as I have this year.....100 fish crappie days in August is a special treat....
