No I never weighted my spider's before, with the chenille it sinks pretty slowly (Which the Gill's and I don't mind) I don't know the sink rate. So far this spring and even late winter most of my Gill's were on Black spider pattern's but Olive does as good. Mark I never try a tail on a spider hopefully it trigger's more strike's.

I like to use a sinking spider haven't tried that particular pattern, is it weighted?

nice tie Angelo ,the sinking spider is a killer on gills and chinks,i never leave home without some in my box.
