Do you love big bluegill?

Got these two lots off Ebay.
1. Upper Left - five Eagle Claw, size 0 and size 1.
Standard metal body, French blade inlines. These usually always function well and catch fish. They also cast like bullets. You can hardly go wrong with them.
2. The Rest - 11 various Hildebrandt 'fly spinners.'
I'm pretty sure that is the modern name, but I still think of this type as an "Idaho" spinner, with the safety pin style wire frame. I grew up knowing them by that name.
To the right, in the middle, is a single "Colorado" style spinner... just two swivels, a blade and spilt rings, and a hook.
Both of these spinner styles are very, "old school" - in grandpas day, these were found in every tackle box.
Pflueger probably made more of the "Colorado" spinners than anybody, but those are now long out of production collectibles. Today, I think only Hildebrandt still produces the "Idaho" style as a stock item. After over a century of doing so, they are still top quality lures.

Hard to beat the Mepps patterns. I use to make them by the hundreds when I walleyed in Canada. Mepps weren't cheep and the cost of lookalikes was so much cheaper and worked great.
Ahh I see! Gotta save those hands for guitar playin'! Ever use the June Bug Hildy? They are great David I'm telling you pal!
OK now what's with the foam peanuts still stuck on the hooks?
I'll never forget the 8 Brown Trout I caught on a Hildebrandt 'June Bug ' spinner from a small hole in a local brook a few years ago .What great action those nice little Trout gave me!
Always loved Hildys! I usually think spinners for Gills after Labor Day .Thanks for the reminder!
