Can you imagine having 'thousands' of acres of high-caliber bluegill water right under your nose?

Jeffrey...you have to be one of the most blessed bluegillers alive! I'm jealous, and I have great water all around me, too!

I can't help myself...I just have to do this blackwater/river gig some day before it drives me nuts! The scenery alone is worth the trip...slab bluegills and fliers are a bonus!

Can't believe the size of the tail as to the size of the fish, another good one Jeffrey.

I've noticed that too. Some of Jeffrey's fish almost appear to me like they didn't get enough to eat when they were younger. A BG that grows quickly when its's young will sometimes "outgrow" its tail, meaning the tail looks small, and out of proportion when compared to the rest of its body.

I suspect it may work the other way around, too. A BG that grew slowly, possibly due to insufficient food when younger, may have its tail outgrow the body.

I'm partial to the Pasquotank Jim because it's close to me and offers several varieties of fishing such as shallow cuts....Deep water access......Heavy Cover....Moving Water.....you name it, the Pasquotank has it........I've caught one pound class gills on 8 different Northeast North Carolina rivers but quality/quantity...I spell it P-A-S-Q-U-O-T-A-N-K or as we call it locally...The "Tank".....

Hey Jeffrey...I've noticed that some of the coppers you guys catch appear to have great skeletal length and larger than average tails per body length. And then some are major chubbers...

Any thoughts on this...does one river yield heavier fish than another?
