Do you love big bluegill?
Splashed about 2:30 this afternoon and set my jig/minnow combination to one foot under a fixed float…..saw a few spots at 61 degrees on the surface but 59.7 degrees where I located the shallow crappie in brush piles and cypress roots….caught 37 black crappie up to 14”……..starting to get their tuxedo

Thanks Tooty……hope you have a great Spring…..we’ve been very wet this winter but mild as well…..frequent seven rivers near me and they are all above 60 degrees, yesterday we saw 63…..this is very early for us, March Full Moon is still ten days away….
BEAUTIFUL FISH AS ALWAYS JEFFREY.......WE SITLL HAVE SKIM ICE HERE ON MOST OF THE PONDS......I hope to be out in then next month or so......
Thanks Bruce and all along I thought I was keeping my addiction to panfish a secret….but yes I caught fish in less than three feet of total water depth yesterday…..just a blast….and pleasantly surprised that the sows had also pushed in…..Good luck to you guys….hope you catch a break soon….
Thanks John, I thought about everyone still battling winter as I was realizing that my local crappie have begun moving shallow, we have been very fortunate in coastal North Carolina this season……lots of rain but record highs every month and surface temperatures above 60 with a week of February still to go. I hope things begin to go the right direction for you guys John! Good luck….
Here we go again, spring and fishing!
The Black Tuxedo! 61 degrees !! up here its about 44 degree WT Looking to get out on March 7th Full Worm Moon . Hope to locate Crappie Pickerel and Bass and BlueGills if possible.
You can see the pink jig silhouetted in this crappie’s throat…..smashing the bait….
