They were fresh water mussels. I think they digest the meat and pass the shells. I've fished Kentucky Lake a lot , but never Barkley.

Yes, in KY. It was interesting cleaning this fish because of the little shells and tiny clams I found in his gut. These fish amaze me in their ability to digest shells.

Love that smile. The way he holds it, it appears to be 6lbs. If I hold it, it looks like 0.5lb.

Great picture Troy.....my grandsons get to go out today for the first time this season.....I enjoy seeing their face when they catch a fish......lot of fun!
