Jeff - there is no qual card; not officially. No restrictions, nor is registration required.

Unofficially, every yakker has one short qual he would be a fool to ignore.

1. Get out into 10 ft + of water,

2. Dump yourself over the side...

3. Climb back on unassisted.

Yakkers call this a 'water entry' and it's a critical maneuver to learn. Its also best to do it under controlled conditions ! :-)

I don't think I'm coordinated enough to safely operate such a craft! I'll leave its operation to David and the other professionals!
