Here in CT I fish a lot for bluefish which are very aggressive and voracious. They have jaws like a snapping turtle, teeth that stab you, and eat constantly like a piranha. When bigger ones hit a topwater, you'd think it's a missile hitting the water. Very acrobatic like tarpon. At the end of a book I have all about bluefish, it says "if bluefish were to grow to the size of a giant bluefin, there would be nothing left except for blues". A bluefish that size can outdo a mako.
You wouldn't be disappointed that's for sure Michael....I have friends that use a saltwater Flyrod for the ultimate fight....pretty cool to watch!
Someday I'd love to get into topwater reds. I've heard they're fun fighters!
Get out there Vince if you visit the coastal regions of North Carolina or South Carolina.....If you want a fighter....these guys test you and your gear.....South Carolina record is 65 pounds and North Carolina holds the current world record at just over 94 pounds......Hundreds of guides in both states charter for Red Drum!
Good Red, Jeffrey! I have never caught one, but seen them caught on TV and they look like a lot of fun.
