Do you love big bluegill?
080214- Another fine day on the water… targeting the nine inch p seed I located a hard bottom saddle are between two large deep expanses on my depth sounder. Pulling into the area revealed clouds of panfish on the depth sounder inches off the bottom. Making a first cast in this area with a drop shot with crawler caught the best of the day p seed at 8.6 and several others in the 8 in class. The next few casts revealed to me a gravel sand bottom. For the first couple hours I was catching and releasing about 30 fish per hour and slowly tapered to about 10/hr with smaller gills. Pulling back into the basins found more bluegill clouds on the depth sounder and started to pick them off with the ice jig and drop shot rig.

Great line up! It's like I'm looking at a great wall of catches.
Beautiful seeds, Ken. The fish third from the right, top row, and the fish smack in the middle might possibly be p-seed/bluegill hybrids. Beauties, and great average size!
