Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The prototype worked so well, and then was lost, so I tied a few more. The Gills ready seemed to love this one.

I had a hard time remembering exactly how I tied the prototype, but I think I finally got it figured out. These are tied on a size 10 2x hook (my favorite gill hook). They ride butt-low in the water and because of the gap between the green and white foam at the head, these make a little splash (like a popper) when pulled. I believe this one will become a favorite of mine. Some of these will be deployed on my next trip to Heavenly Ranch for sure. I believe they will do very well on Lake Murray too. I think Scruffy said he has already tied a few of these. I am sure he took notice at  how much fun I was having with this pattern.

Water is Warming Up..........it will only get better........so get out there..........And please return all the big ones that are full of eggs...................Don in SC
