Do you love big bluegill?
This fly was tied in a simplified manner, following classic English "wet" fly proportions.
It is not a specific pattern, but one I created out of on-hand materials.
It is tied on a #12, 2x wet fly hook. I used peacock sword fibers for the tail, stripped and frilled peacock herl for the sparse body and thorax, ending with a black cock neck feather for the hackle collar.
Traditionally, such a fly might be used for trout and grayling. But, being as I live in SC, it will be fished for bluegill.
I hope you like it!
