Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My grandson was not impressed with the bluegill. No coaxing would get him much closer than 10 feet from them.
I guess at 2 years of age, fish in real life are just too UNLIKE the ones in cartoons.

Thank Jeff.

His mom (daughter) got those little muck boots, as he was always getting his shoes wet and muddy at the pond. She would fuss and give me that cross look, and I'd had enough of THAT. So the boots were a necessity.

He was funny during this episode. Normally, he likes to go to the pond, but has the attention span of a gnat. After tossing three or four sticks in the water and stomping into every gloppy spot around the fringe, hes ready to, "go back and see Nana." (his words).

SO I fooled him this day.

I brought worms and the fish were willing; its the first time he's been there to see a fish up close. He wasnt sure of the thing flopping around splashing water and all, so he hung back the whole time. I'm sure that will change as time goes on, but his expression in the picture tells it all - "NO WAY! KEEP IT OVER THERE!"
