Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I thought this was a beautiful photo of one of my favorite Bluegill lakes, here in southern Calif., Lake Perris. Kind of looks like the ocean in this pic, taken on a windy, cold day. Photo is courtesy of expert Perris bass fisherman James Montes.

I moved up to central Calif. so getting to perris is a long drive. I am always looking for new water, small out of way places. Caught some of my bigger 'gills in places like that.

Craig, I have fished Casitas, and yes there are big Redears in there, but I have caught and have seen larger ones caught from Perris.  Plus it's only 25 minutes from home compared to Casitas which is about 2 hours away!

Just a bite now and then would be fine with me......I would probably miss a few strikes taking it all in....Very pretty place to fish...

Never fished Perris, but heard it had good fish in it.  If you want big red ears try Casitas Lake. Man there are some monsters in that lake!

Great pic, does look like ocean. Perris would be a dream vacation.
