Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

New Lake Record "Bluegill" from California lake..

Jonathon Wilowiak of Winchester caught this new Lake Skinner Record fish, which the lake is calling a Bluegill. Looks like a big Redear to me. Weighed 3.69 pounds! A trophy fish whatever it is!

I'm with Tony on this one...red ear X bluegill hybrid.

Its definitely got a lot of redear in it strong traits for sure.

I think it has more to do with trying to showcase the fish itself, more than anything else. I don't see too many photos in In-Fisherman that don't focus on the fish, rather than the background.

I just wish people wouldn't shove the fish as close as they can to the camera lens.  I guess people are always wanting to exhibit cheap sensationalism for the camera, compensating for their small appendages.

I'm sticking with what I said earlier. Hybrid of a bluegill and a redear,  not a pure bluegill....and a BIG one! Love that!

From the looks of some of your pics Chris, I would fully expect you to.
