Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

082114—so today the quest continues for wall hanger panfish. Got to the lake at about 9:30 and quickly had a few spots lined up. Calm as glass just the way I like it. Just a mild sporadic breeze. My hotspots turned up cold. They certainly were not out deep. So started drifting the shoreline mostly cottages with seawalls. Passed a gravel area and picked up the largest seed of the day at 8.5”… this fish was a loner. Many fish along the seawalls from four to seven inches.avg was about 5 or 6. A lot of action but I was looking for the 7 or above. I was just getting ready to leave and decided to give the ¼” of night crawler one last go and hooked up with the 10 inch class gill… sweet fish took out line on the light outfit. Continued fishing shallow and hooked into a bonus pike and lm bass. Many many fish on the drop shot and ice jig tipped with gulp. (pink maggot) pattern was shallow today.

I've finally landed one of these after dozens of biteoffs. He had this tiny hook in the corner of his mouth.
