was fishing at heidicke when they still had decent gills and was new to flyfishing and the spiders kept sinking on me.i let one sink and twitched it and then learned there was a bout 300 spawning nests where i was throwing.it was an epic day

I AGREE 100% JIM !!!! NEVER tried the lead thing and have old customers that put spit shots ahead of em and use through the ice.......

the foam spider has caught more gills than any other fly by far.i used to put a little lead wire on em to make them slowly sink.the drowning spider.it would tumble and the legs would kick.
