Do you love big bluegill?
Restrung a couple (16) footers, two (13) footers, a (12) footer and (7) ten footers as I get prepped for my favorite time of the year..........I have (16) ten footers and usually set (2) up with the same bait so I can quickly change poles if any problems occur.....e.g. wrapped line, knots...etc. I will soon retire the 16 footers for the season and will sail with roughly two dozen 10/12 footers despite only fishing one at a time........

all of these are great looking rods Jeffery!!
No restrictions......many guys spider rig for panfish......upwards of a dozen poles at a time.....
And I thought I had a lot of fishing poles.......
Wait a minute. Jeff, NC has no restrictions on how many poles a person can fish at one time, right? I know you said you only fish one at a time, though.
It's a finesse thing Sean that practice will teach you.....no matter what you fish with you can't horse a crappie or they might tear off...........I just fight the predators with patience and maintaining a tight line but I will work the fish if I have room........I net almost all fish with the exception of small gills when fishing telescopics......my advice is to pick one up and give it a whirl.....play around at your favorite pond as see how it goes......
Cool! One more question---since there's no drag, can I sort of 'be the drag' by letting off a little when I have a nicer fish on?
I use 12 lb most often Sean so 10 is a good place to start unless your water is gin clear......fishing is fun period but pole fishing is a blast.......
Thanks for the advice, gents...I'll hit Wally tomorrow and see if they've got any. When you say 'very heavy' what pound test are you talkin' bout? I get the principle behind it with no drag, but most of the water I fish is only slightly stained...and there are some pretty nice 'gills and crackers. I'm thinking maybe 10 lb line?
And don't be afraid to throw it in the water they float lol Mr Jeff thought me that one
Sean I would get a 12 foot B n' M to give it a try.....should be less than $15.00 in most locations......Walmart carries them in various sizes but the 12 is a good all around pole for gills, crappie and the occasional bass if they are available......I use very heavy line without missing a beat because of dark tannic waters, use trial and error to determine what works best for you but remember with no drag light line will get snapped often......I just use "mono" on my poles because I change it often and I like the super knot varieties for clinch knots.........hope this helps....
