Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Put New Line on Twelve of my Telescopics This Afternoon.......

Restrung a couple (16) footers, two (13) footers, a (12) footer and (7) ten footers as I get prepped for my favorite time of the year..........I have (16) ten footers and usually set (2) up with the same bait so I can quickly change poles if any problems occur.....e.g. wrapped line, knots...etc. I will soon retire the 16 footers for the season and will sail with roughly two dozen 10/12 footers despite only fishing one at a time........

Micro plastics work great when fishing small. My favorite is Little Atom

one small thing I noticed to-- Jeffery likes the quill floats!!  its just absolute fun to watch those quills run like a torpedo then go out of sight!!

Alright Joe!
When you say, "above the waterline," I assume you mean high and dry and not floating a
In the surface film?
What would you bait this thing with?

Here's a micro  quick rig . Take 10 feet #2 line and tie a loop in the top. Thread this in the eye of the pole. Tie a small quick snap connector to the bottom and snap on a #12 hook. Instant ready rig. You can add a few yarn knots for visibility or add a small indicator. Just keep the yarn / indicator above the water line. Just let me know how it feels when you catch your first fish.

I run to 4 and 6 pound test for most of my panfishing. This includes when toting poles. I will go to 3# ice line as a leader section, as it is very limber and near invisible.
My smallest line is a large spool of 2# Stren I got on clearance
But that stuff...
a. Makes me nervous
b. Is hard to see!

But I feel what you are saying Joe.

Absolutely, if thats what you want to target. Sometimes a lighter line and smaller hook just work better.  Love pole fishing since it gives a perfect vertical presentation and allows for exact bait placement. Just don't be afraid to use 1-2 lb test and #12 or less hooks. The fight a smaller fish can give is amazing if you match the terminal tackle to the fish

"US poles are designed to pull Crappie from bush / stumps and manage the stray bass..."

There ya go - that's the stuff for me!

Depends on the type of pole fishing you are looking to do. US poles are designed to pull Crappie from bush / stumps and manage the stray bass. BnM is a good pole but does get a bit heavy after about 2-3 hours. Japanese and European poles are lighter but are a bit more expensive. Google Colgard Sporting. BnM Black Widow poles run from 6-12 dollars
