I'd like to give this Yellow Perch a run for it's money this winter.....Unreal! Only thing missing is the "NFL" logo on it's sides....It will take a pregnant female to beat it for sure....

Always like to look back on Mrs. Evelyn's 2 pound 9 ounce North Carolina State Record Yellow Perch..Caught over 22 years ago on the river I pictured here....

Evelyn's fish is a legend in Northeast North Carolina. I have never targetted Yellow Perch but I plan to this Winter because we have plenty in this area. They are also very delicious Jim!

Wow! That's a giant! Maryland record is 3 lb and 5 ozs. and I believe it is the fourth largest recorded in the U.S. I have been fortunate enough to catch several over 2 pounds from Deep Creek Lake with a 2-4 as my PR. The 15 3/4 inch perch I got in a small public lake in southern PA probably didn't quite make the 2 pound mark...it was a post spawn female. Giant perch are just awesome fish!

Mrs. Evelyn Ethridge caught this 2 pound 9 ounce fish on February 8th, 1990. The perch spawn here January through March during our coldest water period but we do not form any ice on these rivers.
