Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Well, they aren't gillage. But they were the best I could muster up in hurricane winds.

Great catch my man!!! Nothing wrong with them yellow perch!! I bet that crappie was confused and wanted to just fit in with the "in crowd"!

Lance, nice looking mess of fish. The yellow perch, when fishing for them are they a bottom feeder. Only thing I know on y.p. is what I have seen on fishing shows arournd the great lakes and they were fishing 60 to 70 ft. of water. Where do you target yellow perch, what kind of habitat do they prefer?

Hey Lance -
Only two crappie and a dozen or so small Yellow Perch but three decent Bass 17, 15. 14 inchers. My nephew Tim was a sport and was happy to catch a 15 " bass as well as several Perch.I was a proud God father/Uncle! We were pretty cold in the wind but played it smart .We fished from 10-2:30.

White bucktails took the 17" and 14" Bass as well as the Crappie.Drifted 1/2 crawlers plain hooked and spooned took all the perch and Tims bass .We had a pretty good thing going with the long drift down the center of the lake with a North wind. We were able to utilize two poles each!

Nice catch Lance,Hopefully there'll be some hardwater for me to try this weekend in SE Wi but I may have to wait another week to get at some more gill, crappie and perch action.

That a way Lance!Bringing my nephew (just back from Bagdad) fishing tomorrow and this photo entry gives me hope that I can possibly put him on fish! Thanks for the encouragement! Nice Perch! Now ,what was the total catch? Is this just what you kept for the pan? I'm guessing you caught them on jigs.
