Do you love big bluegill?
One of 23 caught today
A week ago I woke up and the temperature was in the teens . Today , it was mostly cloudy but the temperature was around seventy . Water temps in our local reservoir wuss 50.2 when we arrived . We found some 53.4 in the upper end and that's where we found the gills right up on the bank of a little pocket off the big flat .
Used 1/80th micro jigs 18" under a weighted float , 2# Pline .
Great winter afternoon. . Got to enjoy them whenever we get them . Gillchaser

Yesterday I Spent a couple hours at a friends pond his lot backs up to . About a 100 feet of shore land available to fish , along with a small dock . I was using my jigs and float on a 7' Daiwa Procyon UL Rod and 2# Pline . Weather is still spring like in the low 70's . Fish were in the shallow water . I caught 13 gills , three shellcrackers , five crappies and a Jack fish . Gillchaser

Nice Haul. The weed /Standing Timber Gills my brother and I caught through the ice in NJ the other day were more Golden Brown colored .
