These guys pop out of the water in many interesting color patterns.....but the spots always remain the dominant feature......I like a long shank hook on these guys if bait fishing to avoid gut hooking.......These particular fish took a combination of Gulp 1" Minnows and a live cricket or grass shrimp......seems like a mouthful for these guys but it's not uncommon to catch a hundred or so even when they are scattered and not spawning.......Most anglers consider them a nuisance......

Thanks James....these guys come out of dark tannic waters down in Louisiana and a few other southern states...don't get real big but attack big popping bugs, rubber worms and larger sunfish offerings.....most people see them as a pest......I love catching them on telescopic poles and they make great tablefare for patient fish cleaners like me.....
