Did you use a digital scale, Jason?  I had the same issue a few weeks ago with a digital scale - weighed an 11" bluegill and it was wildly off.  I don't know why someone doesn't make an accurate digital scale for fishing - if anyone ever did it would make a lot of money.

I created a blog entry about this fish. The guy holding it is my brother and he's "grown" if you know what I mean. He has huge hands. This fish was well over a pound but I didn't get an accurate read on the weight. He says he's caught bigger in the place so I'm on the hunt.....thanks
