Do you love big bluegill?
I managed 22 Bluegills today. It was 19 degrees this morning, and the gills' moved back to deeper water. By mid-afternoon it hit 60 degrees with sunny skies, and they moved shallow again to forage.
These were the biggest of the bunch, a matched set of 10" fish, male on top, female on bottom. Water temps still at 45 degrees.

Thanks guys. Ice jigs w/beemoth, again. Suspended 4' below a float in 5' of water, right off the bottom.
No Walt, this pond has no supplemental feeding. It is actually pond #6....I know, I've only mentioned 5 ponds in the past. The reason for that is, it's actually owned by my Brother In Law and his family. Our five ponds discharge their overflows into this one big pond. It is 3-4 acres in size, and lies about 50 yards below my family's ponds. When the property was divided up, they took two ponds, and my family took the other five. Yes, there's still one more pond I haven't discussed.
Everbody gets along, and everyone is allowed to go and fish wherever, and whenever they choose.(Except for the hybrid pond) Since I'm the pond nut, it fell to me to make the decisions regarding ALL the ponds. There are some phenomenal fish in it, and It's never been supplementally fed. I fish it only occasionally, like today, because I'm usually too busy with ours. Very good fish in it, but I worry because it doesn't get fished (harvested) enough. They don't fish it but two or three times a year, and we can't fish everywhere at once. I think I will probably invite the local kids' fishing clubs out several times this Summer.
Awesome catch, Tony! I assume this particular pond is being fed?
Nice one's Jeffrey. What was you bait and water depth.
Nice going Tony in rather adverse conditions...19 clicks is pretty cold....nice looking gill couple!
