Nah, with Banty rods (shorty) If its rated for a 4 weight that's what I'd use ... They load much more
Efficiently than plastic rods, as I call them ... Bamboo cast different, feel & sound different going through the guides and believe it or not smell different .... Re silk cortland 444 SYLK is a poor imitation of real silk lines ...

Now I got the picture, some one built it on a blank with thramer s specs, got it! Cane rods are wondetful rods, if you really want to have fun put a silk line on it, the ultimate fly rod experience IMHO, the 7'0 thramer DxSb is a fun rod as all my cane rods are ....

Hi mark , yes i understand the cane rod was hand built, obviously if AJ built it ..my question is
Did he built it per your specifications ., your dimensions etc, reason I ask I've got two other
Thramer built rods, he always frowned upon Banty rods, I wasn't aware he even built them ..

Hi Dick  a friend of mine tried to cast it he was out almost to the backing his wife and mine was there with me as we watched him with it he kept saying daddy like,

he said you can leave it with me, I smiled and said it has a home. it is different to cast at first, great for stream fishing because it is so short.i had a sunfish on it it was a blast

Hi Paul my Thramer was hand built, the Orvis dealer had a big smile  when I brought it in his shop to find a on reel rod   case . he asked me if I wanted to sell it I said no , I get a lot of smiles where ever I go with it  Sleepy

Wow talk about a short rod what is the purpose being so short don't that make it hard to cast your flies.

it's a fun rod to fish, the best thing its in a rod on reel case and it's ready to go in a few seconds. Sleepy
