Thanks,Tony and Dick!

No weight on these fish, as I actually stopped by for a 'quick hit' panfish session on the way home from a doctors appointment. I believe that these bigger fish from this small public lake are pushing a pound...have to break out the digital scale before they retreat back to deeper lairs.

The beds that I can actually see do not have fish on them, so I am fishing a few yards beyond these areas as well as casting almost parrallel to the bank as I move up on them. I scouted the shoreline the last time out and saw perhaps 100 beds in a 20 yard area that everybody has been ignoring, choosing to fish for bass with plastics and coming up empty. As a result, I caught 28 gills and seeds today, with three seeds bumping the 10 inch mark and several gills surpassing that. All released and all on a small earthworm on a #8 Aberdeen hook below a bobber. Rain and cloud cover aided me in my efforts today.

Of the 28 I caught, 24 were over 9 inches. I am keeping this place quiet!
