Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Stocking programs over the last decade in South Carolina have increased numbers of this highly desired Sunfish.....Efforts are in place to ensure quality fish like this specimen.....a beautiful RBS

Wow talk about coloring looks like the fish is in fall colors.

Glad to here of the stocking programs. I, too, have heard that the flatheads have greatly reduced redbreast numbers, and that the long established fan base of these panfish were in an uproar.

Maybe we can chalk one up for panfish management!

Fabulous photo, BTW!

Looks like some split shot on that Beetle Spin. (16th oz.?)

Unbelievable fish for my area!

Imagine this fish at two pounds John....unbelievable! I know some guys here that only fish for redbreast.....they enjoy the fishery that much........and it doesn't hurt when the rivers you fish have produced countless fish over a pound and the World Record as well.....

Most anglers tip Beetle Spins on these waters for some great action......The stocking program has been in place to rebound from drought conditions the last decade in this region of South Carolina......Many folks think the introduction of the Flathead Catfish to these rivers has had a negative impact on the RBS as well......
