Getting on the real big fish isn't easy with a small window Jeff. Most of the big BGs me and Jim use to get were late bites. The large BG are still there - just talk to a slip owner that got a 2.5lb, in the marina, a couple of days ago. Got a 12"+, couple of 11s, and a lot of 10s this season. Last couple of outings has been 9s and 10s only so I think things are picking up. I do see a massive kill coming up shortly - fish are too exposed now - with minimum cover. Hopefully the wind & sun will keep the MEs & imitators away.

Hoping to get on a 3 this year. Going to fish Havasu with a buddy that keeps a boat out there. Was supposed to go last week - van problems. His PB RE is 4.1lb and he has 5 over 3...

Huge!  Sonny, with all the large Bluegill you catch there at Perris, shouldn't you have caught a fish there pushing 3 pounds by now?  Does it seem like the true giants are just not there any more?  Or maybe very few left?  Back 5 to 10 years ago I made replica molds of quite a few 2.5 to almost 3 pound Bluegill.  There's lots of 1 to 2 pound fish caught, but I never hear of anything much bigger.  (Don't get me wrong, a 2 pound Bluegill is a fish of a lifetime.)  I keep waiting and hoping that one of these days, I'll look at the photos here on BBG and I'll see that you have caught the lake record 'Gill!  With as much as you go fishing there, including your knowledge of the lake AND fish, your fishing technique, and the awesome little jigs you make, the big fish should be yours.  You deserve it man!  Come on LedHed.  Show us a giant!  I know you're trying every time you go out..
