Do you love big bluegill?
Caught these fish on the last day of the year fishing from Loch Raven Bridge. But I wouldn’t have caught a single one if it weren’t for two Gentlemen named Bob and Simon who showed me the tricks of the trade. You see the bridge is at least 50 feet above the water and this requires a slightly different technique of fishing. These Men taught me that technique and I thank them for that. Often we fishermen (myself included) want to keep our so-called secrets so others won’t catch our fish…Well that is selfish and silly. Bob told me like this, “I learned it from Sam and Sam learned it from a guy name Barny. Just pass it on”. I plan to do just that.

Jim you know that you always have an invite from me to fish! I am going Tuesday and Wednesday this week!
John we did not use a net however, if I would have hooked up with big fish, there is a way to walk down and land a biggen! Also there is ice over most of lake so pulling the fish on top of the ice and dragging it to shore might work. Most of the Crappie were hitting Green and Black jigs. Live Minnows nailed a few also
One white Crappie mixed in with the Black Crappies and solitary Perch .Good eating!
Did you use a net with a long rope to lower down to the fish when you caught them off that bridge?
