@ David... It was June I was fishing the grass line of main lake point in about 10ft of water! I thought it was a smallie at first

That is a whopper perch. They're voracious predators, you know; the same family as stripers.

No surprise it took the spinner - well, a surprise but not out of character. Can you recall what sort of structure you were fishing and what time of year?
