White perch - not a perch at all. Good looking bunch of whities, there Andre.
The white perch, 'morone americana,' is actually in the same family as stripers. They are anadromous, meaning they can live in salt or fresh water. They are predators of eggs and especially, fish fry. For this reason, most states now consider them a nuisance species when measured against the more popular - and moneymaking - gamefish. Anglers follow suit and in general look down their nose a them. Here in SC, for example, they lifted all creel limits on them and catching them is encouraged. They are not even considered non-game fish, here.
When they can be found they are good biters and tasty in the pan. I like them, mysell.
Thata way Andre nice White Perch! Yea Vince for their size they do fight good!
Those are some good looking white perch, Andre. They are on my list of fish to catch, as I have never caught one before. They look like they would fight real good. What did you catch 'em on?
