Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Loch Raven res can really offer some epic top-water action early summer on overcast and calm wind days! Schools of shad everywhere!

@John, I'm sure they will but what I throw is REBEL Pop-R.  What happens John early in the morning the Bass school large groups of bait fish up to the surface.  You can study the contour lines to figure out where the schools will be.  I literally wait to see the activity and then throw the Pop-R on long cast in the action.  This can happens in 28-40ft  water in the summer time.  And by reading the contour lines I mean looking for where the depth changes quickly normally marked by a lot of lines.  Bass use that wall to help drive the bait to the surface.

You know, Loch Raven used to hold the Maryland smallmouth record at 8 pounds...back in the 1970's.

Great fish!
